In addition to my trips to Ottawa and Montreal, I’ll continue the Continental Breakfast “winter vacation ideas” series by linking to a post on Provincetown, Massachusetts from the New York Times’ Frugal Traveler. Apparently, as the writer learned, Provincetown is wonderful for more than just wonderful summer whale-watching: “These oysters… were a mere $3.99 a pound, meaning eight bivalves (all they had) came to a mere $5.53—less than half what they’d cost at a restaurant. Within an hour, I’d taken them back to my cozy-but-modern bed-and-breakfast, the Aerie House and Beach Club, on a hill overlooking the bay in Provincetown’s East End, where I shucked them in the kitchen, doused them in lemon juice and carried them upstairs to the fireplace-warmed room…” Read the rest here.
