Sugar Café on NYC’s Lower East Side: Gelato for Dinner!

They may serve breakfast all day, but we preferred to indulge in gelato for dinner at Sugar Café on New York City’s Lower East Side. Kate, Brittany and I may have started the night at Lolita Bar, where happy hour margaritas were $5 and draft beer was $3. But, after hearing the hilarious Alice Bradley of Finslippy fame speak about Park Slope’s $4 ice cream scoops at the monthly Restless Legs travel reading series, my friends from travel journalism class and I were craving some $4 ice cream scoops of our own.

This morning on the Today show, Dr. Nancy Snyderman said that, when you need a sweet treat, just make it your entreé. So really we were being healthy.
