When it comes to understanding men—and their interest level in you—do you need a translator? We asked the top body-language experts about men’s most confusing mixed signals and found that it’s not what he says but what he does that really matters.

Lip Smacker: He Licks His Lips

You’ve seen it in cartoons: When a cat’s about to pounce on a mouse, he licks his lips first, right? Tonya Reiman, author of The Power of Body Language, says it’s not much different when humans lick their lips. “He’s hungry for you,” she says. “We lick our lips in anticipation when we see something we desire.” He may be so “hungry for you,” in fact, that your presence makes him feel uneasy: “When we get nervous, our saliva glands stop secreting, and our mouths get dry” —leading to lip-licking,” adds body language expert Patti Wood.


Suddenly You See: He Pushes Your Hair out of Your Eyes

“Anytime a man touches you, he’s telling you he’s attracted to you,” says Reiman. But the experts agree that this body language action isn’t about, well, getting some action. “It’s intimate and hints that he wants more than just sex from you,” says Tracey Cox, author of Superflirt. “It’s a sign that he wants to touch you and get close, but needs an excuse to do it.” Just be wary, warns Wood: “If he grimaces while he does it, it shows the need to have things correct or perfect.” And be aware of your own reaction to this body language cue, too; he’s paying attention: “This is a test, explains Kevin Hogan, Psy.D., author of Irresistible Attraction: Secrets of Personal Magnetism. “It’s a direct way for him to say, ‘If you smile, I know you like me back.’”

Mover, Shaker: He Sways While He Speaks

When a guy rocks back and forth, he’s having a mama’s-boy moment, our body language experts agree. “The front-to-back sway is typically a comforting motion mimicking being rocked in the mother’s womb,” says Wood. But don’t head for the door just yet. “If the sway brings him all the way up on his toes, it indicates happiness.” Cox adds that, when you see this cue, you should ask yourself why he’s craving that comfort: Are you sending out signals that you want him to leave, for example? “Swaying on our feet is an ‘intention movement,’ where his body starts to do what his brain would like it to do. In this case, he’s half staying and half running away,” she says. Hogan, however, says this may have nothing to do with you at all: “A lot of people do this if they’ve had a drink or two.”

Rise and Shine: He Lifts His Eyebrows

Next time I see you, remind me not to talk to you, said comedian Groucho Marx. And who needs words when your guy is being so communicative with his eyebrows? This Groucho-like body language cue is all about context: “Surprise, happy recognition, skepticism… So much of this is in the timing,” says Wood. But if he raises his eyebrows quickly, you’re in luck. “That’s called an ‘eyebrow flash,’” says Reiman. “Coupled with a smile, you can usually assume he’s attracted to you.” He might also think you’ve said something cute, but he’s trying to play it cool, says Cox. She adds, “It’s an almost universal sign that he fancies you. After all, we raise our brows to allow our eyes to take in as much as possible of what’s in front of us.”

Can’t Sit Still: He Fidgets in His Chair

Is he squirming in his seat? That usually indicates that something’s wrong—and he wants out. In fact, Tonya Reiman, author of The Power of Body Language, goes so far as to say, “It signals anxiety or nervousness—a desire to end a conversation or to leave a situation.” Sex and body language expert Tracey Cox, on the other hand, has a more optimistic point of view: “He’ll also do it if he’s getting sexually excited and is trying to hide or calm down a potential erection!”

Animated Moves: He Talks with His Hands
You’ve got a big, um, personality on your hands with this guy, says Cox. “If you want an intense relationship, he’s your guy!” Hm, “intense” is a pretty loaded word, isn’t it? But she says not to worry: “He’s expressive and passionate. Men who talk with their hands are usually good communicators.” According to body language expert Patti Wood, it’s also possible that he wants to get serious, but he can’t figure out exactly how to tell you: “Using your hands helps you access more information in your brain, especially emotional information and emotion-laden words.” And Hogan takes it one step further: “The wider the gestures and the more he does this, the more he likes you.”

Comb On Now: He Runs His Fingers through His Hair

When birds in the wild smooth or clean their feathers to look their best for a potential mate, it’s called preening—and this human body language cue is no different. “We preen as a way to draw attention to ourselves,” Reiman explains. Wood agrees there’s a good chance that he’s interested in you if he fixes his hair in your presence, but that’s not all: “If he dips his head forward and gently cups his hair and smiles, it signals he wants to look good for you. But if he does it as he’s approaching you or as you’re approaching him, he’s nervous about his appearance,” she says. So, if you like him back, this may be a good time to comfort him with a compliment.

Spread ‘Em: He Sits or Stands with His Legs Splayed
This is one of the manliest of all body language moves. “Sitting with the legs splayed shows ‘machismo,’” says Wood. “[It’s like saying], ‘I am the alpha male.’” He may even think it turns you on, Cox says: “If he’s sitting with his legs wide apart, he’s giving you a ‘crotch display’—a sneak preview of what he thinks is his best part!” You may not want to take Mr. Big Stuff home to Mom and Dad, though, says Kevin Hogan, Psy.D., author of Irresistible Attraction: Secrets of Personal Magnetism, “You need an ego like this like you need another past boyfriend. Pick another guy.” Harsh!

Cheeky! He Strokes His Face
“Three cheers for this guy!” says Hogan. “He’s not trying to impress you; he’s just trying to listen to you.” He also may be mulling over his next move, and that could be one of a few things: Tonya Reiman, author of The Power of Body Language, thinks his next step will be emotional: “He’s contemplating an idea or thought.” But Cox says it may be physical: “We ‘self-stroke’ when we desperately want to stroke the person in front of us, but don’t feel like we can yet.” Regardless, this guy is a keeper.

Palm Sunday: He Reaches Out His Hand
When a man stretches out his hand, he’s asking for your permission, as in, “’I want to get close to you. Can I’?” says Reiman. But exactly how he does it determines whether he feels vulnerable or confident: “Palm up means he’s happy for you to take the lead from there. It’s a more submissive and innocent gesture,” says sex and body language expert Tracey Cox. “Palm down means he feels in control of what’s going to happen.” In fact, you can tell a lot about a relationship by how a couple holds hands: “The person whose palm faces down is usually the boss,” she says.

Getting Ahead: He Kisses You… On Your Forehead

If your guy chooses to plant one on your forehead of all places, it’s “a great sign of tenderness,” according to body language expert Patti Wood. Reiman agrees: “This is a signal of deep respect and affection, especially if he cradles your head simultaneously.” Tenderness, respect, affection… That all sounds well and good, but where’s the heat? “This is a parental gesture,” says Tracey Cox. “He cares for you deeply, but he may just see you as a friend.” Ugh, that’s what we were afraid of—but not so fast: “It could also mean he fancies you, but he doesn’t have the guts to aim for your lips.” There’s hope for you yet!

  5. Hey, there is another one too I call ‘the Jewellery Test’. If you’re out with him and chatting ‘subconsciously’ take off anitem of jewellery and set it on the table. How he communicates with it tells you how he feels about you. If he ignores it then likely he is not paying attention or if you’re in a relationship he takes you for granted. If he picks it up and plays about with it for a while and sets it back, it’s how he’ll treat you. But if he examines it and puts it on, he wants to be close to you and for you to be around him for a while.

  6. I found a lot of this to be true, this guy that I have been seeing does just about all of these things…I sense he is falling in love. He stares at me a lot and drops his head when I catch him, but I do him the same way. Why does his touch seem to “burn” and move all the way through me? I can still feel the heat of his touch when his hand is no longer touching me.

    This guy I see around as we work in the same building…. I first seen him because I had this odd feeling someone was starring at me, so as i’ve looked up to inspect The situation he’s just starring with a tiny hint of a smile… Soo in response I smiled back… Ever since we still have Not uttered a single word to each other but I notice without fail he often does stuff to walk by my work place though he has No need to and I think Unconsciously I do it to..

    I was reading this and it really gave me a headache, because I know the answer to every question but see no answers. So for the girls that asked if he likes you or not:

    first off, erica: Almost every REAL man with a bit of guts spreads his legs when he sits. It means it is your territory and I never thought of subconsciously giving ‘penis’-signals to a woman. Guys who sit with their legs together are either gay or autistic.

    kyra: Guys are shy too, and are afraid of rejection. When you see a girl you like, you don’t want to mess up, by giving the ‘power’ to her. When he smiles at you, it means he likes you and is honest with it. But what happens with you **** girls, is that you know he likes you, so there’s no challenge for you anymore, so you won’t like him anymore, because you already got him in your pocket. Shy guys won’t even look at you, or only brief and then look away fast. Smart guys or guys who know game, know that you have to look at a girl without smiling, maybe just a little itty bitty mouthcorner-raise. That’s when you think: Was he smiling at me or do I have something on my face?
    So conclusion: If he’s shy he probably won’t look, but would never smile. If he’s smart/confident, he will look, and MAYBE smile. (everyones different)

    eva: So he’s driving you everywhere, he’s afraid that if he has sex with you too soon, that you’ll think he only wants sex. Foreheadkisses are a sign of affection, he wants to protect you.
    But if he calls you all the time: HE HATES YOU!
    Yes, I am kidding. It really seems like he is in love with you and doesn’t want to lose you.

  29. I have excited energy about a family friend. He’s about 10 years younger than me, so I’m freaking out, because I am very attracted to him and his personality. I’m reserved and picky, but do tend to have an outgoing friendly personality. I was friendly to all my guests the same. He’s a got a open and funny sense of humor, but I noticed when I talked to him he was fidgeting and looking in to a vase, grabbing the lemon in front of him and avoided eye contact with me, but when he did look at me, he would get a bashful smile on his face. He’s been over a few times, we hug and call each other sweetie. I’ve done my best to play the friend role and talk to him about girls and friends, etc. Kind of trying to play the aunt role, although. deep inside I don’t feel that at all. The last time time he came over, he seemed really relaxed with me. when he was saying goodbye, we hugged and rubbed each others back for a good 15 to 20 seconds, just giving tons of love and holding tighter. When we stopped, his hand fell into my hand and we squeezed for about 3 seconds. as he was walking away, I said ” sweetie, come here your shirt is not tucked in the back. He walked over to me while tucking it in and then turned around for me to fix the rest. I don’t know if he has any kind of crush or if it’s just liking me like a lot of friends do. I’m 40 he’s 30 and I’m really feeling like this is against the law or something, but it’s feeling exciting. Just don’t want to be assuming anything. How would you read into what I’ve explained?

This guy I like its super complicated I want to know what it means when we are together we are so chatty and we like constantly play fight this summer i got a sun burn and I was over at his sisters he was there the complicated part is so was his girl friend I went into the bed room with his sister to look at somthing and he left his girl friend in the living room and came and stood right bye me i had a sun burn on my nose and I was like feel and he touched it so softly and sweet he also came and sat by me when he could of sat in the chair he was sitting in when i got there.   39. silent love: i think perhpas one event isn’t enough to show but if you have felt his closeness to you many times then this episode you described could defintiely mean hes getting into you– after he came back out of the kitchen he was cold to you bc of the things that his gf talked to him about (like staying farther away from you on the chair etc) since she obviously felt the fire…yet, it may have just been a momentary thing..he mightve been mad with his gf that day for some reason beforehand, and so wanted to brush that off by putting more attention on you, etc. but are you trying to bring him on? is he taking the bait? only you could know for sure

  41. Hi I also would like to ask I’ve got a gay friend we be came friends in the same co.we are working with.   44. Okay, Please help me on this one!! I am 17 and I am going to be 18 in April! The guy I like is 28 and will be 29 this Fall!! Well don’t judge the age, also he is my step moms brother….Please do not judge me…We are not in anyway related by blood it is not insest, we did not grow up as family. The next day my step mom left again to get my dad and we were home alone again, I was in the living room alone for awile and then asked if I could come sit on his bed and he said sure. We finished a movie together and he heard a door and said ***** is home I said do you want me to leave? He said Noo then like we are he followed it up with a your such a girl, I told him I am a girl, He just looked at me.   46. There is a guy at my work, I think he is really cute but he is 2 years younger than me and going to college. The competition is pretty steep up there at the college. There are more girls than guys and they are all man-hungry. I feel like he can’t like me because I’m older than him and I probably look like a less cute, older, fatter, version of the girls he’s going to school with. When he first started working here he would look at me and hold my gaze until I shifted my eyes down and away. I felt like he was studying me. He would talk to my coworkers but be looking at me and have his body positioned toward me. I’ve read that this means he likes me but…. he won’t talk to me directly and I am not really a shy person (I actually have a really strong stubborn personality and I’m very fun loving and adventurous and pretty much the opposite of shy) but I think he is really adorable so I am really really shy around him and my heart pounds horribly just thinking about going up and talking to him.   51. Hey Sarah Thank you for commenting on my post. No one has and you were really helpful!! Lately I have commented about him getting layed going out with his friends on his birthday….He looked at me and reasured me that the only p**sy he would be getting was the cats…(HE WAS JUST KIDDING!!) :) I honestly like him. I didn’t tell this in the last post but I caught him looking at me in his rear view mirror I talked to my mom about it and she said it seemed like he was for sure looking at me the way I desribed it. When I was walking out of the house to get into his car his friend in the front seat said wow shes really pretty! I was told by my step mom that He just looked at his friend in an odd way.I was laying in his bed one night and he was a little tipsy and he just stood there and looked at me.   58. Lola, Yeah! I live in Colorado and he lives in Hawaii. I went to visit and havent seen him in 20 years. We did do something the first day but not intercourse. Almost. He draws you near, then backs away cause he is not sure if he can handle his problems and be with you at the same time…. (I hope he is not trying to hide something from you….) But… Being so far apart,…It is slightly impolite to not respond… Or another possibility is that he is not use to getting so much love and attention…since you mentioned he just came out of a controlling marriage.     Okay so ive been best friends with this guy for about 5 years since high school annd we are really comfortable with each other.

    Now, we both go to the same university and its really good. I used to see him every so often because our timetable was different. But lately he has been making time to come and see me, even if that means he leaves his lecture for a ‘toilet break’ just to see me.

    When he sees me he gives me this massive hug, and then will talk to me whilst still hugging me, and then we break the hug and he will complement me on what im wearing or my hair and he will move the hair out from my face if its in the way. He will also put his arm around me, and continue talking to me. The other week I spent to afternoon with him at University, and we were sitting down on a bench and he had his arm around me resting his head on my shoulder, and then he would hold my hand and play with my fingers.

    When we crossed the street he grabbed my hand and held on to it tightly and he kissed my hand when we had crossed. He even blows me kisses just because. And the other day I saw him, and he did all these things again but when we had to go he gave me this amazing hug, although his hands were quite low and then he kept his arms around me but pulled back and just looked at me and smiled and then kissed my forehead, it looked like he was going to kiss me on the lips… and then he was saying he didnt want me to go! Then he was back hugging me and I was resting my head on his shoulder and he was on mine.. it was the cutest thing! And he then grabbed my hands and slowly pulled away. ..

    Not until about a year ago did we start flirting. The first move he made was when we were playing cards and he said I was trying to trick him with my “feminine charm.” So then, a week later, I got a random friend request from him. We chatted.   82. So there’s this guy that I have in all my classes at school. He’s naturally funny and okay looking. (Just so you know, I’m not much of a girly girl, so I usually don’t really care about male appearances.)

    More than a couple of times, I would catch in staring at me, but he never breaks eye contact, and me, being as competitive, wouldn’t either. Sometimes we just stay there, staring at each other for long periods of time with blank faces until the teacher speaks and I break eye contact (because I’m more interested in my education that I am in boys).

    Anyway, every once in a while when this happens, he would quickly raise his eyebrows multiple times in a row. I always felt like that meant something, but I never bothered to ponder too much about it. Whenever he does that, I’m not sure how to react, so I just look away.

    Now, here’s the problem: since he’s naturally funny, he does get a lot of attention from a lot of people esp. girls, but I’m not sure if he often stares at other girls like that or not (I don’t track his every move).

    I just want to know if that counts as a sign that he’s interested and possibly likes me or not….

  83. The guy I like gets so fidgety when I’m in the room with him. I’ve often caught him staring and when I look at him he looks away. When he passes me in a hallway he constantly runs his fingers through his hair or pulls at his shirt even though there is nothing wrong with either. He’s actually really cute but I find it hard to talk to him other than saying hello in passing or when I’ve to hand up files from the office. Even when he’s speaking to other people his body is directed towards me. Where I work it’s consists of a hallway and four rooms and when I’m working in any of the other rooms he constantly goes by at least 5 times and just has a quick glance in.     shawanna: Does he do this with other girls? If not, he’s probably into you. Or he’s only doing it to you cos you’re the only one who let’s him. If he does this to other girls as well, then he’s being the typical guy, copping a feel from wherever he can by pretending to be affectionate. You’ll have to figure that out based on what you know about his personality.

    rainbow: If he says he likes you more as a friend (and less as a gf), then that’s probably what he feels. Perhaps he’s naturally flirty, or he feels comfortable enough with you to do those things. Or perhaps he IS a little attracted to you, but still likes you better only as a friend.

    Juliette: Sounds to me like these are typical guy reactions to girls paying attention to them, not necessarily a special response to you…

You can’t just decode eyebrows without looking at the whole scenario – is he flirting back, is he smiling, is he saying something suggestive, is he speaking normally but just with jumpy eyebrows (which is kinda weird).

    Lilli: I think he likes you, but is afraid of your brother beating the crap out of him for hitting on his sister. Ok, maybe not get beaten, but it’s an awkward thing for guys, you know? Admitting to your buddy that you like his sister isn’t very cool. Or he’s afraid of the ribbing he might get. (For your brother, having the sister date your good friend might feel weird too.) So he’s probably avoiding the awkwardness and playing it cool when your brother’s around, especially if he’s also wondering if you’re interested back.

  94. Someone please help me here. The guy I am referring to is my boss. This has been going on for several months now. I’ve caught him checking me out (i.e. he’ll look down at my crotch, then look up), not only when I walk into his office, but has on occasion in the hallway. He most recently was checking my legs out (I was wearing jeans, by the way, sitting in a chair next to his desk), and was sitting at his chair behind his desk with his legs spread apart and arms folded. This doesn’t occur every day, but has on many occasions. On the other hand, he’ll be nasty/nitpicky with me at times (never apologizes; rather, he’ll be nice to me again later), and has even rushed me out of his office, and can be demeaning in emails.   105. I’m in high school , and I just had a “thing” with the quarterback. I know everyone thinks that’s the high school DREAM! But this ended badly. I was kind of mentally questioning his sexuality.I decided to test him by asking what he wanted me to wear. He said a crop top with skinny jeans. This seems innocent, but I had a feeling it was his way of seeing how far he could get. Because then he asked for a picture of me in my bra. I changed my bra to a push- up and sent it to him. He screenshot it. Same with my short shorts outfit. That was pretty much it for the night. Then the next day I was a nervous wreck because I didn’t know how to kiss, let alone make out. I accidentally asked a friend if you need to gum to kiss someone and foolishly revealed that I was going to be kissing this guy. She didn’t think that I should. I finally got mints from a girl, and I stored them in my pencil case and ingested them at the end of the day.I had just went to the bathroom to fix my hair. Then I made my way to the dugout, our meeting place near the baseball fields, after asking a friend (who claimed that I looked nervous, I was) for directions. He kept texting me asking if I was going to make it. I said I would. I finally found it , and sat on the bench and then after about five minutes of being bored, I saw him when I turned around.

    You know those movies where people are walking in slow motion, they look perfect, and you feel so warm and fluttery inside. He was wearing his sports clothes, but his soft hair was stuffed in a hoodie and he looked so cute, which was even cuter because he was around six feet.Tall guys wearing hoodies are the best He sat down next to me and he got me into the dugout I confronted him like my friend that told me to not make out him him said to do, asking if he was snapchatting other girls ( I know I sound so clingy) and he said he was, but he wasn’t doing what he was doing with me. which was true, because he was snapchatting one of my friends ( the one that told me to confront him). So then I followed him into the dugout. We sat down and I said it felt weird to make out with him without knowing something as simple as his birthday. He was silent. I asked for his birthday , then he told me and asked for mine. I told him . And then he started asking me questions, like how long ago I moved, where I moved from, and If I missed it there. It was nice , but then I just broke the awkward silence, and I went on top of him and made out with him. French. And he felt me up, I had to leave because I’m on Student Council and I had to do stuff for the party the next day, but he really wanted me to stay. SO I did. A half hour is what we ended up spending. My sister and parents kept texting me, and they bombarded me with questions when I went to the car. After we did our student council stuff, at the cash register my mom asked he why I had cuts around my lips…My Sister came to my room and I told her everything. She didn’t know who she was mad at more. She decided she didn’t have the energy to hate him more than she already did. He knew she didn’t like him. I told my best friend from my hometown and she was really shocked, but happy for me because she knew I liked him. He sent me a text saying that he thinks we should just be friends….

    He snapchatted me again saying how he really liked making out with me, and how he wanted to do it for like an hour. I wondered why he wanted to just be friends then… Then he asked if I liked it and I was turned on, he said he was. ( I knew he was, he was really into it, making some noises and his eyes were closed and relaxed the whole time, and he was grinding his hips, my eyes were open most of the time, I know that sounds creepy) And he said asked if I liked his ****, I said yeah. Then he said you have a really nice ***. He said we could be friends with benefits, Then one thing led to another and I sent him a picture of me topless and he screen shot it for “five hugs” in the hallway ( which was as public as he’d get , not even a dance at the party) I wondered if he was embarrassed by me. But he just said he didn’t want people talking.

    The next day, Friday, he completely ignored me . He looks straight ahead in the hallway. I was so mad, but I was scared because he might have the pictures and I did NOT want that getting around. I told a lot of my friends about it because I felt that it was the only way to get back at him. At the all school party my sister said if he came up to the cookie stand with as much as a glance at me , she would kill him. He didn’t come any where near me. His friends came over for cookies, and they were smiling at me, not my sister. I wondered if they already knew. But every time I saw him, he was surrounded by girls, he wasn’t doing anything with them really, but he was with them. It felt like order was restored. I was lonely, and he had his pick and choose of girls dancing at his feet. Over my dead body. I left the gym where the dance was and hung out with my friends and their groups and played truth or dare. Where for the dare I told fifteen people about me and him. One guy took me to the side after the party and told me I deserve better. I felt terrible.

    After about two weeks of him ignoring me, two LONG weeks, this was the only thing in my mind. My grades were slipping. I talked to my dad about it. I just told him that I kissed a guy and he was ignoring me. Which was awkward in itself, my dad probably wants me to be an asexual human being. He is always scolding me for my “hooters” outfits, and he only talk about academics, plus he’s super strict, so talking to him about this was mortifying. He ended up organizing a family meeting minus my mom because every time I have a problem she feeds me the same piece of advice that never works. It did nothing. I was still scared to confront him

    Well, everyone knows now. My plan kind of backfired because they are staring at me in the halls, and they probably think I’m a sl*t. Some people are adding to the rumor, and saying I gave him a bj, a lot of people believe that I had sex with him . One girl said she heard me say to one of my friends that we had sex. Anyway, this has turned my life upside down. I know that no one would expect this from someone like me. I was thought of as a sophisticated girl in advanced classes with amazing fashion sense and a tough attitude because she’s from NJ. I’m still scared to talk to the guy and confront him and make sure he deleted the pictures. I think he might think a little differently about me because he looks at me a lot now, not running away. We’ve made eye contact a few times, but I’m always the first to look away He unfollowed me on Snapchat and Instagram which annoyed me a little bit. Okay a lot. Why is he sending me mixed signals? Is this kind of my fault, by not talking to him, am I ignoring him too? Am I putting all the blame onto him? Do you think he was embarrassed by me? Was I just a notch in his belt? Maybe he can’t commit because stuff is happening in his life? Is it possible that even though he acts confident he’s just shy? Am I any different then the other girls he’s always surrounded by? Do I like him? Do you think he likes me ?

    Please help me, I’m at my breaking point. I’ve spent too many hours crying this past month.

  106. There’s this guy that I’m friends with. I catch him staring at me all the time and even when he sees me catch him he doesn’t look away for a while. When I have lunch with my friends he sits by me even when he could sit anywhere else. I see him all the time at soccer practice and he says hi. So does his friends. He also smiles when he says hi. What does this mean? I’m thinking he has a crush on me but I still don’t know.

  107. Thanks for this. It really helps. I was afraid that my boyfriend was only after one thing. But now that I see he is not I am more comfortable. He usually rubs and kisses my shoulders when I am not feeling well. And when I get upset he kisses my forehead. He has stretched his hand out ,palm up, but I didn’t know what that ment. I am still new to the boyfriend thing. I want him to kiss me by surprise.   112. before I met my crush, I always stared at him and had the urge to go over and talk to him but I was shy. Yet my friend introduced us and now we’re super comfortable around each other. We’ve been friends for months and the more I got to know him, my feelings started to grow. Me being curious I asked him if he liked anyone and he told me he told me who he liked, I know her so it hurt me. Even though he tells me he likes her, he quickly told me after that “it’s complicated.” He flirts with me and I flirt with him back but in a friendly manner, he runs his hand through my hair and he knows I REALLY like it, he makes dirty jokes and sits in front of me to get my attention. He acts like this with his ‘crush’ too, maybe even a little more touchy. This ends up him giving me mixed signals. I feel like he doesn’t like me romantically, and that he flirts with me in a friendly manner and sees me nothing more than his friend. Do you have any advice on what should I do?
